Session #3
Title:
The Game within the Game - Draw Control
Instructor:            Jessica Morgan: Head Coach George Mason University Lady Patriots

Date/Time:           Saturday 13 Jan 2018, 6:30-8:00pm
Location:               Sports Network & Fitness 8320 Quarry Rd Manassas, VA 20110

-The Draw is arguably the most important and over neglected aspect of the game.  Draws equal possession; possessions equal shots; shots equal goals – therefore DRAWS EQUAL GOALS.

-This session is geared towards draw control fundamentals, techniques, tactics and strategies.  Coach Morgan will cover body position; push draw; pull draw; “losing the draw;” circle play/position, etc…

-The intent is to follow this session up with another draw session by a different coach after the season starts.  This will help coaches refresh and reinforce concepts and ask questions.

Session #4
Title:                     Between the Pipes Goalie Session
Instructor:            Lauren Saffoori:  Goalie coach at Virginia Metro Travel Lacrosse Club
Focus Area:           Teach coaches basic goalie Principles and Fundamentals to be sustained for the season.
Date:                     Saturday 20 Jan 2018, 6:30-8:00pm
Location:               Sports Network & Fitness 8320 Quarry Rd Manassas, VA 20110

Coach Saffoori played Goalie for Temple University and is currently the Head Goalie Coach for the Virginia Metro Lacrosse Club.  She will be the PWLC girl’s club goalie coach for the 2018 season.  She will hold regular Saturday practices for all team goalies & Coaches who are interested in showing up.

-Between the Pipes will complement Saturday Goalie sessions.  Not looking to make coaches experts but, arm you with info to reinforce what Coach Saffoori teaches the girls through the season.

-During this session Coach Safoori will instruct the coaches on what she will cover throughout the season, teach basic terminology and fundamentals, and address coach questions.

-By taking this holistic approach to the most important position on the field, we are seeking to institutionalize our club’s approach to goalie training.  If every coach is using the same phrases and terminology, and teaching the same fundamental skills we will establish a goalie development continuum that is currently non-existent.
